PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This interactive case study will identify and address barriers to improved diagnosis and outcomes in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients under the care of primary care providers. Topics include the importance of an accurate and early provisional diagnosis and subsequent referral to a rheumatologist for confirmation. The use of an appropriately focused physical examination, targeted laboratory screening, and the benefits of early intervention are presented. The need for proper vaccinations in these patients is discussed.
